HISTORY: When future heavyweight champion Jack Johnson arrived in Australia in 1908 there was a fight proposed between Johnson and the Australian heavyweight champion Bill Squires. Negotiations broke off when Squires decided to sidestep Johnson and look for other fights. Offered here is a vintage, circa 1908 photo postcard picturing Jack Johnson and Bill Squires and asking the question, "When they meet who will win?" They never did.
