Jack Johnson, the first African-American to win the World Heavyweight Title accomplished that feat defeating Tommy Burns in Australia on December 26, 1908. Later defeated Stanley Ketchel and former champion James Jeffries. Offered here is an original, first generation photograph dated November 20, 1945 depicting Jack Johnson in boxing togs standing in the ring with Packey O'Gatty in New York City.
This is an original, first generation photograph which has been labeled on the white border. Bold, clear image. Minor corner creases. Mild center crease. Tape residue on left white border edge. 8" x 10."
