HISTORY: Jake LaMotta was born on July 10, 1922 in Bronx, New York. He began his professional career on March 3, 1941. He won the World Middleweight Title on June 16, 1949 stopping Marcel Cerdan in 10 rounds. Posted career victories over Sugar Ray Robinson, Tommy Bell, Fritzie Zivic, Bob Satterfield and Laurent Dauthuille. His career mark was 83-19-4. Known as "The Bronx Bull" he will forever be remembered as the subject of the popular movie RAGING BULL. Presented here is the original journal kept by Jake and Vikki LaMotta covering his entire professional career. This lists each fight, the name of the opponent, the amount of each purse, the city hosting the fight and the result From the collection of Vikki LaMotta and comes with a letter of authenticity from her son.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original cloth cover journal. Entries bean with the pro debut against Charley Mackley in 1941 and ends in 1954 with his final fight against Billy Kligore. Entries are made in both pencil and ink and are all bold and readable. Cover has edge and corner wear. Interior pages have toned. Tight binding. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2."
