Jake La Motta was born on July 10, 1922 in Bronx, New York. He began his professional career on March 3, 1941. He won the World Middleweight Title on June 16, 1949 stopping Marcel Cerdan in 10 rounds. Posted career victories over Sugar Ray Robinson, Tommy Bell, Fritzie Zivic, Bob Satterfield and Laurent Dauthuille. His career mark was 83-19-4. Known as "The Bronx Bull" he will forever be remembered as the subject of the popular movie RAGING BULL. Presented here is an original wire photo of Jake LaMotta dated July 26, 1949 depicting the world middleweight champion in Dodger uniform at Ebbets Field playing in a sports stars game against baseball old timers.
