MORAN, OWEN-TOMMY MCCARTHY ORIGINAL ANTIQUE PHOTO (1910-SQUARING OFF)

On April 29, 1910 at Dreamland Rink in San Francisco featherweights Owen Moran and Tommy McCarthy battled in an ill fated event. Moran won by knockout in round 16. McCarthy died of injuries sustained in this fight. Moran was down in 16th, but arose to stop McCarthy. Offered here is an original, first generation photograph taken by the notable Dana Studios depicting the two fighters in the ring squaring off before the fight began.
