HISTORY: On June 4,1971 Jose Napoles met Billy Backus for the Welterweight Title. Backus was knocked down twice in the 8th round. After the 2nd knockdown, the referee took Backus to the ring doctor, who stopped the fight on a cut in the corner of Backus' left eye giving Napoles the title back.
