HISTORY: On June 4,1971 Jose Napoles met Billy Backus for the Welterweight Title. Backus was knocked down twice in the 8th round. After the 2nd knockdown, the referee took Backus to the ring doctor, who stopped the fight on a cut in the corner of Backus' left eye giving Napoles the title back. Presented here is the original, on-site poster for the bout.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, cardboard, on site poster which names and pictures both fighters. Bold color and print. Bold, clear images. Poster is clean with slight toning from aging. Small corner tack holes. Small crease at lower right corner. No center crease. 14 1/4" x 22 1/2." A beauty.
