HISTORY: Lou Nova was a heavyweight contender of note during the late 1930's into the 1940's. Born in Los Angeles in 1915 he began boxing as a professional in 1936. He had career victories over Abe Simon, Tommy Farr and twice stopped Max Baer. He challenged Joe Louis for the Heavyweight Title on September 29, 1941, but was stopped in 6 rounds. Lou Nova passed away in 1991. Presented here is a typed letter on United States Department of Justice letterhead which has been signed by Lou Nova.
