HISTORY: Lou Nova was a heavyweight contender of note during the late 1930's into the 1940's. Born in Los Angeles in 1915 he began boxing as a professional in 1936. He had career victories over Abe Simon, Tommy Farr and twice stopped Max Baer. He challenged Joe Louis for the Heavyweight Title on September 29, 1941, but was stopped in 6 rounds. Lou Nova passed away in 1991. Presented here is a promotional photograph of Lou Nova which he has inscribed, signed and dated 1950.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, 8" x 10" black and white promotional photograph of Nova in full fight pose. Bold, clear image. Small creases in upper left corner and lower right corner. Clean. Minor surface wear. Signed in ink, "To John Costello With Best Wishes From Lou Nova Aug. 18, 50."
