On November 30, 1956 heavyweight contenders Floyd Patterson and Archie Moore fought for the vacant heavyweight title at Chicago Stadium. The title became vacant when Rocky Marciano retired as undefeated champion. Patterson knocked Moore out in the 5th round to win the title. Offered here is an original, wire photo depicting the two signing contracts for the fight on October 25, 1956 as Jim Norris, Charley Johnston (Moore's manager), Lou Radziebda (board chairman), Frank Gilmer and Cus D'Amato (Patterson's manager) look on.
