HISTORY: On February 1, 1965 at Madison Square Garden in New York former world heavyweight champion Floyd Patterson fought rugged Canadian contender George Chuvalo. Patterson won a unanimous 12 round decision. This was a highly competitive fight in which Patterson showed his boxing skill. This was the Ring Magazine Fight Of The Year.

Offered here is the original S.Rae Hickok belt buckle monthly award given to Floyd Patterson for his victory over George Chuvalo. Patterson was chosen by Hickok over any other athlete for February, 1965.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is the original S.Rae Hickok belt buckle monthly award given to Floyd Patterson for his victory over George Chuvalo. Patterson was chosen by Hickok over any other athlete for February, 1965. The front of the buckle has a raised design with an athlete inside a laurel wreath and the engraved words, "S.Rae Hickok Award, Professional Athlete, F.P." The reverse inside is engraved, "Hickok Champion, Febr. 1965, Floyd Patterson, Boxing." Fully intact in beautiful and clean condition. 1" x 1 3/4." The Hickok Awards are deemed among the most important won by any athlete and are highly sought after. A rare offering.
