Floyd Patterson was born on January 4, 1935 in Waco, North Carolina. He won the World Heavyweight Title in a bout with Archie Moore on November 30, 1956. He lost it to Ingemar Johansson on June 26, 1959 and then regained it from him a year later. He retired after losing to Muhammad Ali on September 20, 1972 with a final record of 55-8-1 with 40 KO's.
