HISTORY : On August 24, 1976 at the Convention Center in Miami Beach light heavyweights Mike Quarry and Tony Green met in a featured match. After ten rounds the fight was declared a draw.  "'It's the second time they've robbed me here,' Mike Quarry of Orlando complained after earning no more than a draw in a 10 round light heavyweight fight with Tony Green of Miami. Quarry was ahead 47-43 on the Tuesday night card of judge Gus Jacobson. Judge Al Wilensky scored it 48-46 for Green and referee Cy Gottfried called it a draw. Green put a small cut on Quarry's left cheek early in the bout, but the fighters battled evenly throughout the fight." -Associated Press- Post fight comments "Tony Green knows. I know. The people know. God knows that I won. It's behind-the-scenes politics on these decisions when Miami and Orlando fighters meet." -Mike Quarry- "Fighting him to a draw didn't blemish my record. It only boosts my ego." -Tony Green. Offered here is an original, on site poster for this event.
