On March 4th and 5th, 1940 at the Bronx Coliseum Sugar Ray Robinson would begin his march to the New York Golden Gloves Title in the 135 pound division. In these preliminary rounds he would knock out Joe Vidulich in one round on March 4, 1940 and he would knock out Howard Hetterich in one round on March 5, 1940. Offered here is a rare program for the preliminary rounds of the 1940 Golden Gloves featuring Sugar Ray Robinson.
