On April 5, 1951 at Miami Stadium in Miami, Florida middleweights Sugar Ray Robinson and Holly Mims squared off in a non title main event. Robinson won a tough unanimous ten round decision. Mims was down in round two, the first knockdown he had experienced as a pro, however he cut Robinson's eye and gave him a tough fight.
