Sugar Ray Robinson is considered by many observers to be the greatest fighter of all time. Blessed with great speed, power and determination Robinson held both World Titles in the middleweight and welterweight divions. His list of victories includes ring greats, Henry Armstrong, Kid Gavilan, Gene Fullmer, Bobo Olson, Carmen Basilio, Tommy Bell, Jake LaMotta and Steve Belloise. Following his loss to Joey Maxim in June, 1952 Robinson decided to retire and try a career as a dancer and entertainer. Offered here is a scarce wire photo of Robinson shown rehearsing his dance act with chorus girls at the French Casino in New York. Dated October 29, 1952.
