ROBINSON, SUGAR RAY-ROBERT VILLEMAIN WIRE PHOTO (1950)

On June 5, 1950 at Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia middleweights Sugar Ray Robinson and Frenchman Robert Villemain battled for the Pennsylvania version of the world middleweight title. Robinson won a unanimous 15 round decision. The official round-by-round scoring, all in favor of Robinson, was 12-3, 12-3, and 10-5. Villemain was down for a two-count in round 12. Offered here is an original wire photo which depicts action during this fight.
