On September 23, 1937 at the Polo Grounds in New York City four championship bouts were conducted under the promotional banner of Carnival of Champions. The fights included Lou Ambers defending the Lightweight Title with a 15 round decision over Pedro Montanez; Barney Ross defending the Welterweight Title with a 15 round decision over Ceferino Garcia; Freddie Apostoli winning the Middleweight Title stopping champion Marcel Thil in 10 rounds; Harry Jeffra winning the Bantamweight Title by 15 round decision over champion Sixto Escobar. Presented here is original cartoon artwork done on the day of the fights.
