Max Schmeling was born on September 28, 1905 in Klein Luckaw, Brandenburg, Germany. He won the World Heavyweight Title on June 12, 1930 in a bout with Jack Sharkey. He also held the German Light Heavyweight, European Light Heavyweight and German Heavyweight Titles. He retired after losing to Richard Vogt on October 31, 1948 with a final record of 56-10-4 with 38 KO's. Presented here is a wire photo of Schmeling as Champion.
This wire photo measures 6 inches by 7 3/4 inches.The photo has a nick out of the lower right corner.There are tack holes in each corner.There are some bends and light creases in the middle edges.The wire info is detached but included.June 1931 getting ready to train for Willie Stribling.
