HISTORY: Tom Sharkey was born on November 26, 1873. During his career he fought Jim Corbett, Bob Fitzsimmons and Jim Jeffries among others. He fought Jim Jeffries for the heavyweight title in 1899 but lost the decision after 25 rounds. Presented here is an original, 1896 cabinet card of Tom Sharkey by the notable Bushnell Photographers of San Francisco.
