SHEPPARD, GEORGE SIGNED PHOTO (BOXING MANAGER WITH DEMPSEY)

George Sheppard was a boxing manager and small time promoter from the New York-Long Island area who battled with the power brokers of boxing including Madison Square Garden. Sheppard worked in the business primarily from the 1930's to the 1950's and among others managed Sonny Horne and the Cocoa Kid. Offered here is an original photo of SHeppard posing with Jack Dempsey which he has boldly signed and inscribed.
This is an original, first generation photograph dated 5/26/48 picturing Sheppard and Dempsey. Signed in blue ink "Best Wishes Lulu George Sheppard." Dempsey did not sign, but his part of the photo is labeled in black ink. Bold, clear image. Clean. Minor edge and surface wear. Not creased or torn. 7" x 8 1/4."
