On July 4, 1910 James Jeffries came out of retirement in an attempt to take the Heavyweight Title from Jack Johnson. Jeffries used former champion, James J. Corbett as his assistant. There had been some bad blood between Jeffries and Corbett's old foe John L. Sullivan. This was patched up when the group met at Jeffries training camp prior to the Jeffries-Johnson fight. This photo was taken at Jeffries camp at Moana Springs as Jeffries prepared for Johnson. The photo was taken by fighter Jack Root with notations in his hand. Rare reunion photo of Sullivan and Corbett and also pictures Jack McAuliffe, Battling Nelson and William Muldoon.
This original antique photo is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2." The photo is clean with no creases, rips or tears.
