Bermondsey Billy Wells was born in London, England on March 17, 1897. He had his first professional fight on May 15, 1919 stopping Frank Moody in 4 rounds. In a career which lasted until March 4, 1932 he fought as a middleweight against notables including Pete Latzo, Dave Shade, Jock Malone Soldier Bartfield and Young Jack Thompson. His final record was 45-19-8 with 8 no decisions. Presented here is a scarce signed photograph of Bermondsey Billy Wells.
