HISTORY: On May 19,1990 world lightweight champion Pernell Whitaker met Azumah Nelson with the IBF & WBC Lightweight Titles at stake. Whitaker would win the bout by a 12 round decision. Whitaker was a 3-1 favorite. The fight took place at the Caesars Palace Sports Pavilion. In the final round, Whitaker lifted Nelson's leg with his right and tapped him on the head with his left. Referee Mills Lane was not amused and deducted a point from Whitaker. Whitaker landed 464 of 989 punches (47%) and Nelson connected on 179 of 739 (24%). Unofficial AP scorecard: 117-110 Whitaker. Presented here is a rare original, on site, lobby poster for the bout. Part of the collection of Caesars Palace.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, on site, cardboard, lobby poster which names and pictures both fighters. Bold color and print. Bold, clear images. Not creased or torn. Very minor edge wear. No tack holes, 22" x 28." A rare, actual, on site lobby poster which was part of the Caesars Palace collection sold to Inscriptagraphs of Las Vegas. Comes with the Inscrptagraphs label on back. Exceedingly rare.
