HISTORY: On November 18, 1995 at the Convention Center in Atlantic City WBC Welterweight Champion Pernell Whitaker defended his title against Jake Rodriguez. Whitaker knocked Rodriguez out in the 6th round. From The New York Times: Whitaker (37-1-1) was in command against Rodriguez (27-4-2), controlling the fight with his superior hand speed. It ended in the sixth round, when Whitaker floored Rodriguez with a left hook-right hand combination. Rodriguez rose to his feet, but he was in deep trouble, and Whitaker did not let his opponent escape. Whitaker knocked down Rodriguez again with a right to the body and a left to the head. The fight was waved to an end by the referee, Frank Cappuccino, as Rodriguez rose to his feet. Also on the show IBF Welterweight Champion Felix "Tito" Trinidad stopped Larry Barnes in the 4th round.
