HISTORY: This is original cartoon art entitled, "Who'll Be The Next Champ?" by noted cartoonist Ted Carroll. Done in the late 1940's the topic covered who would be the successor to Joe Louis. Carroll gives consideration to Ezzard Charles, Jersey Joe Walcott, Freddie Mills and Lee Savold. Ted Carroll was an important sports writer and cartoonist during the mid 20th century. His work, particularly in boxing is widely recognized as among the most important of the era. His work regularly appeared in The Ring (Magazine) and other independent works.
