HISTORY: James J. Jeffries was born on April 15, 1875 in Carroll, Ohio. He won the World Heavyweight Title on June 9, 1899 from Bob Fitzsimmons. He retired after losing to Jack Johnson on July 4, 1910, his only loss, with a final record of 18-1-2 with 15 KO's. Offered here is an original photo postcard of Jim Jeffries issued in 1910 showing how he has evolved over a 12 year span leading up to his fight with Jack Johnson.
