GRIFFITH, EMILE SIGNED WIRE PHOTO

On September 29, 1967 World Welterweight Champion Nino Benvenuti of Italy defended his title against Emile Griffith at Shea Stadium in New York. Benvenuti had won the title decisioning Griffith in April, 1967. In this rematch Griffith came out on top winning a 15 round decision and the title. Presented here is an oversized wirephoto signed by Griffith knocking down Benvenuti in one of their bouts.
This wirephoto measures 10 1/4 inches by 10 1/4 inches.The photo shows wear to the corners with light creases in the corners.There is a 2 inch crease in the lower right side of the photo.The back has the wire info and some small tape residue in the corners.The signature is in gold marker and clean.Griffith has writen "smile" under his signature.
