MUGABI, JOHN "THE BEAST"-DUANE THOMAS OFFICIAL PROGRAM (1986)

On December 5, 1986 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas John "The Beast" Mugabi fought Duane Thomas for the vacant WBC light middleweight title. Thomas prevailed and stopped Mugabi in the third round. Mugabi took a brutal accidental thumb in his left eye and could not continue. In a strange twist, before the fight Mugabi argued against using thumb tabbed gloves and sadly got his wish.
