Arthur Susskind (October 12, 1886 – March 10, 1967), also known as "Young Otto", was an American professional boxer who set a world record with 16 consecutive first-round knockouts in the early 1900s. His record stood until Edwin Valero of Venezuela scored 18 straight first-round knockouts in 2006. Young Otto fought as a lightweight between 1903 and 1923 amassing a record of 71-13-3. He fought many contenders including Leach Cross, Oakland Frankie Burns, Lew Powell, Leo Houck, and Young Billy Papke. Offered here is a Bob Ripley advertisement picturing Young Otto signed by Young Otto. From the collection of former Boxing Illustrated writer Ralph Pollack who had the advertisement signed by Young Otto in the mid 1940's at Stillman's Gym in New York City.
This is a paper, Bob Ripley advertisement which pictures Young Otto. Blank backed. Clean front and back. Boldly signed in ink, "To Ralph Young Otto." Has a center crease. Minor edge wear. Irregularly shaped to 4 1/2" x 5 3/4."
