HISTORY: On February 27, 1929 at Flamingo Park Arena in Miami Beach future world heavyweight champion Jack Sharkey fought Young Stribling in a featured elimination contest. Sharkey prevailed winning a ten round decision. A heavyweight title elimination bout, arranged by Tex Rickard before his death the month before. Held under the auspices of the American Legion, as required by Florida law. Offered here is a rare, original, official program for this event.
