On December 18, 1942 at Madison Square Garden in New York lightweights Tippy Larkin and Beau Jack battled for the vacant NYSAC world lightweight title. Jack prevailed in a dominant performance knocking Larkin out in the 3rd round. Recognition as World Champion in New Jersey was also at stake. Larkin was down once in the 1st and 3rd, and had to be carried to his corner when he was counted out in the 3rd. Offered here is an original wire photo which depicts Beau Jack at his training camp on December 14, 1942 getting advice from former champions Benny Leonard and Johnny Dundee.
