LOUIS, JOE ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO (1935-AFTER BAER WEIGH IN)

Joe Louis was born on May 13, 1914 in Lafayette, Alabama. On June 22, 1937 he won the World Heavyweight Title from James J. Braddock. He retired after losing to Rocky Marciano on October 26, 1951. His final record was 63-3. Presented here is an antique wire photo of Joe Louis after the weigh-in for his bout with Max Baer on September 24, 1935. Louis knocked Baer out in the 4th round.
This antique wire photo of Joe Louis is 7" x 9." The corners are slightly soft and there is some pencil writing along the top edge. There is some paper attached to the bottom edge and there are some light marks along the edges.
