HISTORY: On June 3, 1947 at the Harrigay Arena in London, England light heavyweights Freddie Mills and Lloyd Marshall battled in the main event. Marshall prevailed knocking Mills out in the 5th round.  American Negro Lloyd Marshall scored a surprising 5th round knockout over Freddie Mills, ending the British light-heavyweight champion's hope of a return bout for the world title held by Gus Lesnevich. Mills caught a hard left and was counted out after 2:58 of the 5th round." - European Stars and Stripes. Mills was down once in the 2nd round and three times in the 3rd round before the knockout in the 5th.
