HISTORY: Terry McGovern and Young Corbett were scheduled to fight in New London, Connecticut on August 29, 1902. The fight was postponed. Announcement was made on August 14, 1902 that Terry McGovern and Young Corbett would not meet in the ring in New London on August 29 as originally arranged. They were scheduled to fight before the Southern Athletic Club of Louisville on September 15, 1902. Representatives of the two featherweights decided upon this at a meeting held at Saratoga, New York. The reason for abandoning New London Is that officials of the State of Connecticut had put the ban on the fight. Offered here is an original, full, unused ticket for the originally scheduled fight.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, full, unused ticket that names the fighters and includes a section, row and seat number. Stub firmly attached. Not creased or torn. Bold color and print. Edge and corner wear. Very slight soiling. 2 5/8" x 6 1/2."
