Mike McTigue was born on November 26, 1892 in Killmonaugh Parish, County Clare, Ireland. On November 10, 1921 he won the Canadian Middleweight Title from Roddy McDonald. He won the World Light Heavyweight Title on March 17, 1923 against Battling Siki. He retired after a losing battle with Garfield Johnson on September 22, 1930 with a record of 104-45-10 with 53 KO's, 6 no decisions and 1 no contest.
