Sam McVea was born on May 17, 1884 in Texas. He began his career on April 12, 1902 with a knockout win over George Sullivan. He fought as a heavyweight during the early 1900's. During his career he fought Sam Langford, Harry Wills, Arthur Pelkey and Joe Jeannette among others. His last fight was a draw with Jeff Clark on August 2, 1921 finishing his career with a record of 65-16-12. McVea died on December 23, 1921 at the age of 37. Offered here is a rare French real photo postcard of Sam McVea dating to circa 1910. Authenticated by SGC as VG 3.5.
This is an original, circa 1910, French, real photo postcard of Sam McVea in full fight pose. Unused. Not creased or torn. Clean front and minor spotting on back. Minor corner wear. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2." Encapsulated and authenticated by SGC as VG 45-3.5).
