MONTGOMERY, BOB-CHESTER RICO WIRE PHOTO (1943-1ST ROUND)

On January 8, 1943 at Madison Square Garden in New York future world lightweight champion Bob Montgomery fought Chester Rico in a featured bout. Montgomery stopped Rico in the 7th round. Rico's corner requested that the fight be stopped after the 7th round, due to the fact that Rico had suffered bad cuts over both eyes. He was leading on points. Offered here is an original wire photo which depicts first round action.
