HISTORY: On September 8, 1941 (postponed from August 25th) at Shibe Park in Philadelphia lightweighs Bob Montgomery and Mike Kaplan met in the featured match. Montgomery prevailed winning a unanimous ten round decision.
Trailing through five rounds, Montgomery knocked Kaplan down with a right to the ribs for a one-count. Montgomery had Kaplan under continuous distress through the 9th round, as Kaplan failed to win a round on the scorecards the remainder of the way.
