BENITEZ, WILFREDO-DAVEY MOORE SIGNED FIGHT CONTRACTS (1984)

HISTORY: On July 14, 1984 at Stade Louis II in Monte Carlo, Monaco light middleweights Wilfredo Benitez and Davey Moore battled in the main event. Benitez was knocked down in round 1 and took a standing 8-count in round 2. Benitez broke his ankle following the knockdown and could not continue awarding Moore the victory by 2nd round TKO. Offered here are both fight contracts for this match which are signed by Wilfredo benitez, the late Davey Moore, promoter Bob Arum and matchmaker Teddy Brenner.

FULL DESCRIPTION: These are the original two page contracts which include all the particulars including purses. Benitez, Arum and Brenner have all boldly signed in ink. Moore has signed boldly in black marker. Both have center creases. Minor border tear on the Benitez contract with no paper loss. Davey Moore, the future light middleweight champion, is a very scarce signature due to his untimely death. Both contracts are 8 1/2" x 13."
