HISTORY: On May 21, 1974 at the Capitol Center in Landover, Maryland heavyweights Oscar Bonavena of Argentina and Larry Middleton met in a featured match. Bonavena prevailed winning a unanimous 12 round decision. "Argentina's Oscar Bonavena scored a unanimous decision over Larry Middleton of Baltimore Tuesday night in a 12 round heavyweight fight. Bonavena, the 7th ranked heavyweight in the world, scored a 7th round knockdown against the 8th ranked Middleton but was unable to knock him out.
