On April 30, 1965 at the Armory in Paterson, New Jersey middleweights Rubin "Hurricane" Carter and Johnny Toorres fought in a featured bout. Carter stopped Torres in the 8th round. Referee Barney Felix stopped the fight due to a cut eye on Torres. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting Carter standing over the fallen Torres in the 8th round.
