On March 21, 1941 at the Olympia in Detroit world heavyweight champion Joe Louis defended his title against big Abe Simon. Louis stopped Simon in the 13th round. Simon was on the canvas four times before being stopped. Offered here is an original wire dated March 10, 1941 depicting Abe Simon at his training facility in Detroit. Chinning themselves on his massive arms are lightweight Harvey Dubbs (who fought Sugar Ray Robinson) and Papito Santine.
