HISTORY: Gerrie Coetzee began his professional boxing career on September 14, 1974. He failed in his first two attempts to win the heavyweight title losing to John Tate in 1979 and to Mike Weaver in 1980. He won the WBA World Heavyweight Title on September 23, 1983 stopping Michael Dokes in the 10th round of their fight in Atlantic City. Offered here is an original souvenir pin for Gerrie Coetzee as world heavyweight champion.
