On May 16, 1944 at the Convention Hall in Philadelphia promoter Herman Taylor put on a boxing show headlined by future world champion lightweight Ike Williams against Luther "Slugger" White. Williams pounded out a unanimous ten round decision. Williams was cut over his left eye in the 1st round, but won every round on all scorecards. White spent most of the fight clinching, and attempting to maul Williams. Williams was effective however fighting inside as well as outside. White was cut over his right eye in the 6th round, and cut under his left eye in the 9th round. Offered here is a rare, original, on site broadside for this event.
