Jackie Fields (Jacob Finkelstein) won the World Welterweight Title from Joe Dundee on July 25, 1929. He lost it on May 9, 1930 to Young Jack Thompson. In between he fought a series of fights against some stiff competition including Gorilla Jones, Tommy Freeman, Vince Dundee and on February 22, 1930 Young Corbett III. Billed as a $100,000.00 attraction by promoter Ancil Hoffman. A 10 round non-title fight in which future champion Young Corbett III prevailed by decision. Future Lightweight Champion Barney Ross won a four round decision over Jiro Kumagai on the undercard. Presented here is the official program to this event.
