On May 18, 1896 at the Newton Street Armory in Boston middleweights Charles "Kid" McCoy and "Mysterious" Billy Smith fought in the main event. McCoy won when Smith was disqualified by referee Bill Daly in the 6th round. Smith fouled on a break. It had been reported that McCoy would claim the "middleweight championship" if he won (The Los Angeles Times). Offered here is a very rare official program to this event.
This program is four pages with photos of the fighters. Tight binding. Minor soiling from handling. Minor edge and corner wear. No center crease. 3" x 6."
