SCHMELING, MAX & YOUNG STRIBLING WIRE PHOTO (1931)

On July 3, 1931 at Municipal Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio world heavyweight champion Max Schmeling defended his title against Young Stribling. In an exciting fight dubbed the "Fight Of The Year For 1931" by Ring Magazine Schmeling prevailed stopping Stribling in the 15th round. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting the two men shaking hands on March 28, 1938, a few months prior to the fight.
