HISTORY: On September 7, 1892 at the Olympic Club in New Orleans, Louisiana, James J. Corbett won the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship by knocking out John L. Sullivan in the 21st round. Corbett's new scientific boxing technique enabled him to dodge Sullivan's rushing attacks, and wear him down with jabs. This was the first gloved contest for the heavyweight championship. Offered here is an original, full Member ticket to this event used only for members of the Olympic Club. Authenticated by PSA/DNA and graded PR 1.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, unused, full Member ticket to the fight. It names the fighters, and venue and the name of the club member. Not creased. Small closed tear on lower border with no paper loss.  Printed on heavy stock. Minor edge and corner wear. Foxing on the front and back of the ticket. . 3 1/4" x 4 1/4." Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA and graded PR 1 with cert # 74346484.
