Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. He won the World Heavyweight Title from Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964. He announced his retirement in February of 1970 but was back in the ring later that October. He won the NABF Heavyweight Title On July 26, 1971 in a bout with Jimmy Ellis. He regained the World Heavyweight Title when he fought George Foreman in Zaire on October 30, 1974. He retired after losing to Trevor Berbick on December 11, 1981 with a final record of 56-5 with 37 KO's. Presented here is hotel stationary from the Atlantis Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland which has been boldly signed three times by Muhammad Ali who has also added expressions to each signature. Dated 1971, likely at the time of his fight with Juergen Blin which was in Zurich on December 26, 1971.
This is a piece of Atlantis Hotel stationary which has been mounted. Boldly signed in red ink, "Happiness is our birthright, in our happiness is the happiness of God Muhammad Ali Peace, The sign of the enlightened soul is readiness to understand Muhammad Ali Peace 1971, The real place Where the heavens are made is Within Man. Muhammad Ali Peace." Clean front and back. Not creased or torn. Surface wear at top right outside writing. 8 1/4" x 11 1/2." Incredibly rare early signatures with expressions.
